Aromas of black currant, clove, warm spices, and sage are the first impressions.  On the palate the wine is deep and layered, a seamless integration of ripe fruit, French oak and fine-grained tannins. 

Supple, rich, and inviting on the entry. Aromas of spice, black currant, and blackberry bramble come to mind. The finish is long, lingering with integrated hints of cigar box, cedar, leather, and forest floor.
